Kansas Lions 101st State Convention
June 2nd and 3rd, 2023
You are invited to the all-new, beautiful Midnight Ranch Event Center north of Hays Kansas for a fun-filled and informative Lions State Convention! We have a variety of hotels in which to stay that are on the north end of Hays which enables you to stay clear of round-abouts by heading north to the event center!
We are very excited to host our Guest Speaker International President Brian Sheehan and Lion Lori! President Sheehan is a dynamic speaker and a friend to all. Please join us in welcoming President Sheehan and his wife Lori to our wonderful state.
The Kansas Lions Band Camp will be held at Fort Hays State University. The band will perform their amazing Saturday Concert at the Beech/Schmidt Performing Arts Center on the FHSU Campus. This is another beautiful facility that offers both floor and balcony seating. We are working with FHSU to be able to eat with band members on Friday evening. This gives us all a chance to visit with students we sponsor and others. It will be an event to remember!
Friday June 2nd will be full of fun and learning. We will start state committee and foundation meetings and head to the Lions State Council Meeting. At the same time, we will have a tour going to the beautiful churches of Ellis County, and other area attractions for spouses or those not involved in the meetings. Scott Sproul, President/CEO of NW Kansas Economic Innovation Center will be speaking at noon. District 17-A clubs will present a seminar and a session will be held on the new LCI website. Dinner that evening with the band and then to the Jazz Concert.
We will have informational tables, a hospitality room and a PDG Silent Auction going both days.
Saturday, June 3rd will include seminars from District 17-N and 17-K, the Kansas Lions Band performance, a special lunch speaker, food, and fun. The Saturday night banquet will feature our guest speaker International President Brian Sheehan. Following the banquet, we will have a Casino Night! Prizes can be purchased with winning chips (or fake money/tickets)! We look forward to seeing you there!
